Boven de Wolken

Since a year or two I am a member of Boven de Wolken. This is an organization committed to parents who just had to deal with the loss of their baby. BDW helps these parents in their darkest moments by offering them something tangible of their child, a series of pictures made by professional photographers. Often people are a little shocked when I tell them I make pictures in these circumstances. To me it feels extremely precious I can mean something more with my camera. I can offer something permanent of their child. Besides the grief, parents are naturally very proud of their baby. They would like to hold on to every detail, fix the moment. Hence the importance of these pictures. Time and again, these are very intense encounters in which memories are created that last a lifetime !
